The Gloved One....

Baleout3

Yes, you saw this picture just a second ago.

What can I say?  These gloves, manufactured by FOXGLOVES, are THE BEST gardening gloves I've ever owned and I've only had them since Monday!  From the description alone I loved them so much, before they even got here, that I asked about being a rep for them in Alabama and Mississippi.

I now have a new job!  I'm a rep for this company!

It is the kind of product that once you try on a pair, you understand why they are so great.

You can FEEL your fingers!!!!!

Coming soon to a store near you!

Coming sooner, a couple of giveaways!

Stay tuned!

Bale out, Bama style.

Baleout1a

What's a girl to do in this crazy world right now?

Create my OWN bale out, that's what.  The time for talk is over.  No more dreams deferred.

Action.  Change.  No thanks to Big Brother.

A big shout out to Johnny, my man from Duncanville, who delivered 25 bales of hay on Monday.  A bigger shout out to MY man, Jonathan, for helping drag some of the bales to the backyard.   I created 3 new "raised beds" that I'll fill in with leaves, grass, compost, and kitchen waste, and dirt.   And then, tomatoes.

Baleout2

These beds got a nice blanket of hay, ala the Ruth Stout System

They will get squash and peas and beans.  Maybe some corn.

Asparagus are going in the bed below.   YUMMMMMMM.  Next year.

Like a dull plate that isn't too appetizing, this scenario needed a little something to brighten it up and to make working outside more fun.

A red hay hook.  Who knew?

And the gloves?  They deserve and are going to get a post of their very own.

I puffy heart red.

But you knew that, didn't you.

I also puffy heart hay.  60 more bales of it!

Coming Friday.

And the winner (for color of the year for 2009) is.....

MIMOSA!!!!!

I couldn't be happier!  It  probably IS my second most favorite color next to red! And when I put them together, it is like an "eye-gasm" for me!  (I stole that word from my friend JoAnne...)

Oh wait! Look around you!

Mimosa(s), anyone?

Thank you, Pantone for 14-0848!

Mother Nature loves "mimosa", too.  I think she shows it of quite nicely like this....

Rudbekia1

When I first read the color was "mimosa" I immediately thought of a sickly pink color because in the south we have these trees that bloom in the summer with feathery leaves and pink powder-puff type blossoms. YICK was my first thought.

Then they gave other names  like "sunflower", "buttercup" and other things that made me think "yellow".

THIS yellow.

I really do adore this shade of yellow.

I once had a coat that was this color.

I painted Katie's room this color (twice) when I was in a major Mary Englebreit phase.

I still have a room painted this color, though you can't see it for the stacked up drawers and shelves.

Sneaky Peek....

Oooh boy, I love a Sneaky Pete hot dog.

Oh wait....this post isn't about hot dogs, it is about a sneaky PEEK. (Though I could re-segue back into hot dogs because they do serve those at the circus, along with "Popcorn!" and "Peanuts!"

The circus?

Yes, the circus.  January is a circus month around here.  Ads for snarling tigers, obedient elephants, crazy nosed clowns, and even more crazed motorcyle, rocket blasting types of folks are all over the tv.

Here's my ad for the circus!  MY circus!  Coming soon to a three ring tent near you!  And I promise, the tigers don't snarl and the elephants are cuter than the tigers.  (Aren't they always????)

So, in my best ringmaster's voice, I say "Step right up! In ring number one you can feast your eyes on THE WHOLE KIT AND KABOODLE! (oops, minus the ornaments)

In ring number two....THE ORNAMENTS!!!!MW3orns

In ring number three...The amazing display at the Midwest of Cannon Falls showroom this past weekend!  (They are an INCREDIBLY wonderful company to work with a (shout out to Cassi and Susan!!!!) and I love the display they had by the front desk.   (A big THANKS and a hug to my daughter, MK, who visited the showroom, took the pix, and left feeling, as she said, "Like a rock star, Mom!)

Aren't these fun?  And I love that many of the items are perfect for everyday use and not just Christmas.  Also, be sure and look back at the top of the ferris wheel to see the little Santa head ornaments hanging off of it.  They are some of my favorites!

The circus is coming to town!
